Youth Girls Invited for Thalapoli

To all SPYC young ladies,

Below is a message from Sunitha Aunty regarding the Thalapoli for Friday. 

Reg: All youth girls are invited for Thalapoli at 5:30 PM for the reception of all Thirumenis - on Friday April 19th.

 There is a thalapoli (please see attachment for thalapoli photo) during the reception of allThirumeni's this Friday.  Youth girls – who ever wish to take part in Thalapoli can come in set-mundu on Friday (set mundu with colored border is okay – it need not be golden border as seen in the picture).  Thalapoli is going to be before evening prayer – during the reception of Thirumenis.  Girls need to come on or before 5:30 PM for this event.  Reception is scheduled for 6 PM.  We will be providing plates, flowers and candles for all girls who are dressed up for the occasion.

Fwd: April 6 Oriental Orthodox Concelebrated Liturgy

Can one of you guys send this out to the youth group and collect RSVP.  Give me a RSVP count back this Friday.

Christ is Risen!  

As discussed at our last youth meeting, we will be attending a concelebrated liturgy on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:30 am.  The location will be at: 

St. Anthony Coptic Orthodox Church

Medford, NJ 08055

As you know, we are in communion with the Coptic (Egyptian), Armenian, and Ethiopian churches. It will be a very unique way to experience the Orthodox faith.  

The tentative schedule of events:

10:30 am -12:30 pm: Divine Liturgy

12:30 - 1:30 pm Agape Meal

1:30 - 3:00 pm Keynote Speaker & Q&A w/ clergy

Basically, after Liturgy, we have something to eat and informal fellowship. 

We would like to get 10 volunteers to come.  It should be a really good time and we will arrange rides for this weekend.  The rides will leave by 9:15 at St. Peter's.

If you are interested please RSVP back by Friday morning.

  Just letting you know that the youth dues will be collected starting this week, youth dues are $15. The last day to pay these dues is February 25th, please get the money into Basil Aleyas or Shalu Kodiyattu before the set deadline.

Sorry for sending out another email. There will be a youth meeting tomorrow after Holy Qurbana, all youth must attend!

Shiryl Chemachen will be delivering tomorrow's sermon, the bible reading that corresponds to the sermon is Mark 6:1-16, if you have time in your hands please look over that portion of the chapter, so you can get a feel for what he will be talking about.
