Hi everyone,
I'm proud to let you know that SPYC volunteers participated in this year's Philadelphia Cares Day volunteering event. Despite the terrible rain and cold weather, we had a terrific turnout.
After an inspirational speech from Mayor Nutter and food in the rain at the Mann Music Center, we headed to Morton Elementary School in the Philadelphia School District. We got to work with a terrific group of people and helped paint parts of the school. You'd be surprised how good we were with the paint!
I want to personally thank everyone who showed up today and you all know that you played a key role in today's success. I've said this several times, but it needs special mention again. I'm tremendously proud of our youth group, and I've personally seen what we can do as a team.
