Commemorating the struggles of the holy apostles to preach the gospel to the world, our Holy Church is entering the Fast of the Holy Apostles. This period of lent will start tomorrow, June 26th, 2010, and end on Tuesday June 29, 2010.
It is required that all our faithful observe this lent with prayers and fasting.
In addtion, on Sunday June 4, 2010 our church also commemorates the memory of two important saints, Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Let's all seek the powerful intersession of these patron saints.
As you may know, Saint Peter was the most prominent and also the chief among the apostles. In the Gospel of Mathew (Mathew 16: 18-19), our Lord says, " And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
